The Metamorphosis

Home Stretch

Mar 09, 2024
If there’s one thing I can say about the cast and crew of the Metamorphosis - we do not give up. On February 24th, we captured the dining room scene which had been delayed since late September. When rescheduling, we struggled to get our actors and home aligned because of medical emergencies, then the holidays, and then more challenges with the house being unavailable. So we finally found a date with the three actors and scrambled to find a new location that would accomplish our goal.

There was a some stress involved with ensuring our homeowner was accommodated, but the pay-off was great. The home was local and provided an ease and flow that was needed for this long awaited day.

Not to mention, the sun was out and the air crisp as we stepped outside between takes. Kyle worked hard to customize cardboard covers and hardware for the existing appliances to give them a more period-appropriate look. Zuzu considered a beautiful and memorable outfit for Phyllis while ensuring Peter and Lisa not only fit the part but were comfortable.

The following day, we met outside of our family home in Oakland to shoot a short scene with Phyllis and the Renter. The energy was light and comfy since we knew we had little to capture and felt relieved after completing the scenes of the day before.

Our cast arrived looking their best and inspired us to finish the weekend off strong.

Our camera and producer crew meets tonight to view the third cut of our film which includes everything shot up to this point. We have two more days of production left to capture visuals and then a few extra days to record some missing audio. We are so excited to be near the completion of this film and to share it all with you.
