A dark and dreamy take on the writings of Franz Kafka, The Metamorphosis tells the story of a young boy’s alarming transformation and the effect on his family in a cruel, cold world. The short film directed by Douglas Park Lawlor hits the film festival circuit this fall in the San Francisco Bay Area.

In July, we met to puppet a final hand-built creature. The result was a satisfying emergence of the reality that we had come to the end.

Summer Sessions

It has been an exciting start to the summer. Since mid-May, we’ve had five mini productions recording sound bites with our lead cast.

About this Film

In 1915, Franz Kafka initiated a conversation on the meaning of human existence within a constructed societal structure. With this film, we hope to engage in that conversation.
