Welcome to the Dept. Of Human Metamorphosis

On June 17 – 19, 2023, the Metamorphosis crew filmed the Department of Human Metamorphosis scenes at the McCune office in South San Francisco. The DHM was modeled after the DMV to be a point of amplified emotion and frustration for the distressed family. We were fortunate to be granted unfettered access to this huge office space for the holiday weekend. We captured some grotesque, emotional, and comedic moments thanks to a skilled and collaborative group of artists. Check out some behind the scenes photos below.

We can’t wait to show you the results. Thank you to our extras who made each scene full and rich. Thank you to our crew who sometimes jumped in as extras! Laina, Liz, and Zuzu ensured everyone was fed, looked great, and were comfortable. Kyle, who hand-built file cabinets, office supplies, and wall decor made each shot look amazing and complete. Our make-up and puppet team provided us with an unforgettable moment. Christiana set the tone in and around the lens for every frame while Eugenio lent his expert eye to the light and shadows. Sammy supported us with audio and as our site lead, provided us with security and comfort throughout the entire production. We are grateful for our friends, our crew.
