An award winning short

The SacTown Movie Buffs Film Festival in downtown Sacramento started on a Friday night at Futures Explored. As a kick off to the festival, we attended a free mixer that featured live music, a raffle, and a room full of creatives, eager to share their films in the days ahead.
On Sunday, The Metamorphosis screened in the category for short films over 10 minutes. The lobby smelled of popcorn and a red carpet led the way to our seats. We touched base with cast and crew and smiled for photos. A feeling of excitement was felt in anticipation of seeing the film on the IMAX screen with a brand new audience. There was a sense of renewal once the film ended and a lot of support from cast and crew in attendance.
The film was nominated in seven categories and took home three awards! They are: Best Short Film over 10 minutes, Best Actor – Bohn Connor, and Best Actress – Vasilisa Badeka.
Nominations were: Best Supporting Actor – Jackson Horton, Best Supporting Actress – Amada Noel, Best Writer – Scott Chema, and Best Director – Douglas Park Lawlor.
Congrats to everyone for the creative input and energy put into this project. It’s official! Metamorphosis is an award-winning film.
